“FOLLOW DE DRUM”
An African-Caribbean Musical Dramedy
An inspirational story about two young men, whose shared childhood suffering creates a bond between them, beyond blood ties. A bond eventually tested by time, distance, differing political backgrounds and opportunities; then broken by fear-fueled misplaced loyalty and spilled blood. “Follow De Drum” winds and interlocks like roots of a magnificent tree. It is full of many branches, yet one common trunk: bearing the sweet and succulent fruit of wisdom. Wisdom attained from the telling and experiencing of a story, about some of the tribulations and triumphs of living in the “real” Jamaica – juxtaposed against the scenes of its magical and mythical paradise that obsess its tourists.
SHARON TSAHAI KING PRODUCTIONS INC. is conducting auditions for multiple roles. A two-part audition process is being adhered to:
1. Initial auditions will be submitted via videotape after visiting company’s website (www.stkpinc.com – click on gold award button titled ‘JA Auditions’, located next to the word “DRUM” to begin process), becoming familiar with role descriptions, choosing a role to audition for, then retrieving the appropriate sides (audition scene/monologue). Ask a friend or family member to use your phone to tape and save your best portrayal. A saved copy of your videotaped audition accompanied by a Headshot/Picture, along with contact info and performing arts resume (if available) should be attached to this email address sking@stkpinc.com or sent to WhatsApp account number :876.384.5161.
The deadline for audition submissions is December 16, 2021.
2. The most accurate role portrayals from audition submissions will be scheduled within 24-48 hours to attend a call-back in Kingston, Jamaica.
ALL COVID 19 PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS WILL BE ADHERED TO THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS AT ALL MEETINGS AND CALL BACK AUDITION DATES.
